A one day visit to Agriculture Training cum Demonstration Centre Samba was organised by Dogra Degree College for the students of BBA ,B.Com and BA semester 4th and 6th sem of Management, Commerce and Arts stream accompanied by their Eco-warriors club Convener, Ms. Palak Gupta and Placement Officier, Ms. Preeti Sharma on 15th of May 2023.

The students were demonstrated by the present trainers namely Mr. Somesh, Mr. Gulshan, Mr. Ayush, Mr. Satveer about vermicomposting, mushroom cultivation and apiculture. Mr. Somesh encouraged the students to focus on creating jobs by developing entrepreneurship skills. Mr. Gulshan explained the different varieties of vegetables grown under different conditions namely Broccoli, Purple Cauliflower (Brassica Oleracea Var, Yellow Cauliflower, Capsicum (Red, Green and Yellow). Mr. Ayush explained the procedure of vermicomposting and the uses of manure obtained from it. Mr. Satveer explained the process of apiculture. The students were shown pollen grains and various uses of it. The students were provided knowledge about various varieties of Mushroom (Button Mushroom, Milky Mushroom and Dhingri Mushroom).

The intention of the visit was to help the students in better understanding the concept of mushroom cultivation and apiculture as this aligned activity has huge potential of employment generation and benefit of vermicomposting as it is eco-friendly fertilizer.
